Marvin Sapp Searching for Gospel Music’s Next Great Vocal Talent!

Marvin Sapp recently celebrated a milestone anniversary, as he marked 30 years since accepting his call to preach. He also celebrated 15 years as pastor of Lighthouse Full Life Center. These milestones are reached as the second single off of his latest, Dove and Stellar Award winning release “Close”, advances to the top of Gospel Radio Airplay Charts. The dazzling ballad, “Listen”, is the #3 most-played Gospel song in the country. “Listen” reframes the adage that God is trying to tell you something with modern day lingo as the singer imparts: “Hold up / Shhhhh…Listen / I know you’ve got your own plan / But He’s got a better one.”

2018 has been an exceptional year for Sapp, whose ministry has taken him around the world while accolades and acknowledgements continue to pour in. Over the last two months alone, Sapp has been to Africa and Europe two times each for preaching and singing engagements. He was also won the Traditional Gospel Album of the Year category at the recent Dove Awards, was honored at the 2018 Gospel Music Honors, and is set to receive the Inspirational Impact Award at the inaugural Urban One Honors being held in Washington, D.C. this December.

As Marvin Sapp looks ahead to 2019, he has launched a talent contest to find a vocalist who will record a digital single with the Grammy-nominated singer. The contest will take place March 27 – 29th in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Registration is open now at https://www.marvinsapp-popupshop.com/record, where there is more information available.

One of the most enduring voices in Gospel music, Marvin Sapp is internationally acclaimed. He is a multiple GRAMMY® and Billboard Award nominee, two-time BET Award winner and multiple (24) Stellar Gospel Music Award recipient. Sapp is Senior Pastor of Lighthouse Full Life Center, with locations in Grand Rapids and Muskegon, MI. He is also Metropolitan Bishop within the Global United Fellowship, overseeing more than 100 churches in 19 states.
