Gospel music will fill the riverfront as Metro Detroiters gather for a day of music, inspiration and celebration in its debut of The Certified Praise Fest on August 18, 2012 at the historic Chene Park Amphitheatre located at 2600 Atwater St. Detroit, MI 48207. Sponsored by Certified Praise 4 God, Impact Network and Chene Park, the free of charge event will take place from 12 p.m. – 10 p.m.
The Certified Praise Fest will make its mark within the Metro Detroit community and is guaranteed to bring hope, inspiration and the joy of gospel music to the city of Detroit. The one-day event will also provide various resources to the community provided by American Heart Association, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Omni Care, Impact Cares, Gleaners Food Bank, Forgotten Harvest and a host of others.
“ I grew up attending the Motor City Praise Fest produced by the legendary Dr. Deborah Smith Pollard. She is our true inspiration and it’s exciting to introduce my generation to gospel music in such a way.” states Certified Praise 4 God Chairman, Brandon Benton.
The Certified Praise Fest will feature some of Gospel music’s greats national artist, Damita Haddon, Shana Wilson, Tim Bowman Jr., D Maub and over 20 local and national artists. The event will also feature Bishop Wayne T. Jackson and Pastor Fred Brame of Impact Ministries International, Pastor Welton Smith IV of New Life Family Church and the Certified Praise Fest house band, directed by national recording producer J. Drew Sheard. The festivities will continue with the “Detroit Rising Stars” competition for youth ages 18 and under and the awarding of the “Bishop John H. Sheard Dollars for Scholars” Scholarship to one Metro Detroit student.
Media partners of The Certified Praise Fest include WDJR 1440 AM, Impact Radio, Detroit Places and Faces, Action Magazine, IndustryBuzzz.com, Fuse Mix.com, Events For Christians and Fearless Entertainment.
Certified Praise 4 God (CP4G) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to impact, educate and empower lives within the Metro Detroit community. Through their “Operation Backpack 100“ and “Project Gobble 1000” in 2011, CP4G provided over 1000 individuals and families with backpacks complete with school supplies as well as other resources such as food, clothing, toys, gift cards, etc. To date, Certified Praise 4 God continues various outreach efforts to benefit the city of Detroit and beyond.
