Earnest Pugh and Keith "Wonderboy" Johnson Most Added At Radio

“Kerry Douglas Presents Gospel Mix Volume IV” CD/DVD Is In Stores Now

Things are still smoking over at Black Smoke Music Worldwide where the Houston-based label’s music continues to fire up gospel music playlists everywhere. Black Smoke artists Earnest Pugh (known for his #1 smash “Rain On Us”) and Keith “Wonderboy” Johnson tied this week with the most adds at gospel radio for their latest singles featured on the best-selling CD, Kerry Douglas Presents Gospel Mix Volume IV.

Pugh’s remake of Keith Pringle’s 1984 classic, “Perfect Peace” has just been added to leading gospel radio stations in Baltimore, Charleston, Greensboro, New Orleans, and Flint, MI. Johnson’s smooth as silk soul tune, “True Love” will debut at #28 on next week’s Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart. It also picked up stations in Norfolk, VA; Baltimore, MD; and Montgomery, AL, among others. Furthermore, both songs had a 61% increase in airplay over the last week according to The Nielsen Company.

Meanwhile, another song from, Kerry Douglas Presents Gospel Mix Volume IV, is spending its eight week at #1 on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart. James Fortune & FIYA’s inspirational anthem, “I Believe,” is also continuing to pick up stations and edge out the competition. The dramatic ballad features Shawn McLemore (who has made a full recovery from a recent stroke) and Zacardi Cortez.  Kerry Douglas Presents Gospel Mix Volume IV CD/DVD is the latest in Black Smoke CEO Kerry Douglas‘ series of hit compilation CDs that have introduced now-established gospel artists such as Jimmy Hicks, Earnest Pugh and James Fortune to the public. “We’re doing something no one else is doing,” says Douglas. “We’re not taking old hits and repackaging them. We’re taking new songs and making them today’s hits through the Gospel Mix series.”
