Tyscot Films to Debut Switching Lanes Trailer at Indiana Black Expo

switchinglanesIndianapolis-based film production company, Tyscot Films, tackles the issue of race relations in its upcoming film, Switching Lanes and will give Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration attendees an exclusive sneak preview on Sat., July 20th.

The new film is a coming of age story about two teen girls, Kaneesha and Sarah, living in the ‘separate but equal town’ of Casterville. Connected by their love of track and field, the two teens form an inseparable bond in spite of the strong racial tension in their community. Through a series of events, Kaneesha and Sarah soon discover that they have much more in common than they ever could’ve imagined.

Switching Lanes is directed by Tommy Ford (Fox’s MARTIN) and stars Michael Lerner (GLEE), Marla Maples (Executive Decision), Terri J Vaughn (Steve Harvey Show), Jamila Thompson (The Voice), Victoria Staley (Raising Izzy), Fred Hammond (Gospel Artist), Kim Fields (Living Single) Angie Stone (Recording Artist) and Wes Morgan (Gospel Artist).

The Exclusive preview will be Saturday, July 20th in the Cultural Pavilion at Indiana Convention Center. Attendees will view the official trailer and participate in a special Q&A panel featuring Ford along with Producer Shannon Nash, and Executive Producer Bryant Scott. This event is FREE with paid admission to the Summer Celebration.

Tyscot Films is locally owned and operated by father and son team, Bryant Scott and Dr. Leonard Scott, who also run Tyscot Music & Entertainment, the longest running African American gospel label in the country. With race being such a dividing topic in the news, especially of late, Bryant knew that Switching Lanes was something the world had to see: “As we see in the wake of the ruling in the George Zimmerman case, racial relations is still a significant issue in America.  Switching Lanes explores racial tensions and reconciliation, and is a necessary film for these times.  I am excited to be working with such an awesome team of talented individuals to bring this much needed message to the world through the medium of film”.
