Craig Lamar Davis, ordained minister and husband of Bishop Paul Morton’s executive secretary at Full Gospel Baptist Church, Jannalyn Davis, faces two counts of ‘reckless conduct’ charges for allegedly intentionally spreading HIV. Davis was arrested on July 22, 2012 and released two days later on the 24th.
According to blogger William McCray, a woman by the name of Ronita McAfee admitted to having an affair with the married minister, in which they engaged in unprotected sexual activity. McAfee claims she met Davis on FaceBook, where they sent messages back and forth before eventually meeting in person and taking things to the next level.
Now here is where the story gets weird. Some sites are reporting that an ex-girlfriend of Davis called McAfee saying that she was infected with the virus. However, in the original story, it was Davis who contacted McAfee and told her that an ex-girlfriend contacted him and said she had HIV. It also says that Davis advised McAfee to get tested for herself. She did get tested, and according to the picture of her negative test results, she was HIV free.
But Davis refused to get tested, so McAfee assumed he had the virus, therefore, he potentially threatened her life. She filed a police report which allowed a warrant for Davis’ arrest. According to reports, Davis admitted to being HIV positive after the scenario unfolded. No word on whether or not he is still with his wife, but she is the one who posted bail for him to get out of jail.
This story is very peculiar, as some of the details don’t add up, but since an arrest was made there must be some truth to it. I hope that Ronita McAfee knows that it usually takes a minimum of 6 months for a positive HIV result to show up.

Actually it takes 25 days to 3 months (not 6 months)for the average person who has been been infected to produce enough HIV antibodies that a rapid HIV test will pick up. HIV antigen tests (which detect the presence of HIV) can confirm a diagnosis of HIV infection even before that.
