Lance Williams’ True Worship Retreat 2012 with Hezekiah Walker, Donald Lawrence, Rance Allen, Richard Smallwood and More
In 2002, Gospel artist Lance Williams formed the True Worship Retreat to unite worshippers and to empower those called as worship leaders. Since its conception 10 years ago, the True Worship Retreat has been a perennial event for those serious about the ministry of gospel music. This year’s retreat eclipses all others as the crème of the crop will be a part. Taking place from Thursday, September 6 – Saturday, September 8, 2012, the True Worship Retreat 2012 theme is “Restoring the Divine Order of Worship,” and will be held at Cathedral International (277 Madison Avenue, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861). Special guests include Gospel artists, Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Donald Lawrence, Rance Allen, Richard Smallwood, JJ Hairston, Twyse and Kierra Sheard. Other conference special guests include Bishop Donald Hilliard, Bishop Liston Page, Dr. Carolyn Showell and more.
Retreat visionary Lance Williams is truly excited about this year’s event. “After ten years, it is amazing to see what God has done with and through this retreat. I believe this is a year of renewal, restoration, focused dreams, and focused purpose in life. Through our anointed conference speakers and ministers of music, we aim to set order and clarity in areas of your life. You don’t want to miss this event,” says Williams.
Adult registration for the conference is $45 and includes workshops and breakout sessions, which begin on Thursday, Sept. 6th at 6 p.m. The Worship Experience, an open to the public service, begins at 7:30 p.m., featuring the incomparable preaching of Dr. Carolyn Showell. The evening’s event will include the talents of the True Worship Mass Choir and other New Jersey gospel artists.
The following day, Friday, September 7th, the Men of Worship Concert will take place with Gospel greats Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Richard Smallwood, Donald Lawrence and Rance Allen. VIP admission is $35; General admission is $25 and balcony seating is $20.
On September 8th, explosively engaging youth workshops and life-changing breakout sessions will commence at 1 p.m., followed by the Next Generation Concert, featuring JJ Hairston & Youthful Praise, BET’s Sunday Best contestant Latice Crawford, Deon Kipping, Kierra Sheard, Twyse, Rashad McPherson, and more at 4 p.m. General admission is $25; however, the youth registration fee covers the Next Generation concert, lunch, and the workshops/breakout sessions.
An exceptional treat for this year’s attendees is the Master Class Session taught by Gospel great Donald Lawrence. The Master class session is designed for music directors, songwriters, choir directors and choir members to assist them in producing the best from their choirs. Topics include: The Blending of Voices, The Importance of Lyrics, Wardrobe and Your Choir, Preparing Your Choir for the Camera, and The Spiritual Purpose of the Choir.
