Israel Houghton and New Breed Performing on 2012 Stellar Awards, Current Single Tops Billboard Chart

Four-time Grammy Award winner, Israel Houghton tops the Gospel singles chart this week with the encouraging anthem “It’s Not Over (When God Is In It).”  The powerful song is the first Gospel single off of Houghton’s current chart topping CD, JESUS AT THE CENTER.

Serving as a strong reminder of God’s continuing love and help, Houghton brought along two of Gospel’s rising stars, James Fortune and Jason Nelson, to lend their talents to this powerful song.  The song has continued to rise since being added to radio, touching a chord to all who hear it and its poignant lyrics – ‘He makes all things new …’  are fitting for this time as we head into a New Year.

“The creative collaboration that Israel has pulled together is what gospel music needs to remain relevant and inspiring,” Michael Gamble, Program Director for Sheridan Gospel Network.

“This song a jewel for the inspirational gospel format. Israel Houghton, James Fortune and Jason Nelson are at the top of their game,” Ron Thompson, Program Director at WPRS-FM Radio-One D.C.

Houghton will perform the song live at the 28th Annual Stellar Award in Nashville, TN on January 19th 2013. Houghton also heads into 2013 with two Grammy nominations for Best Gospel Album, and for Best Contemporary Christian Music Song for the hit AC radio single, “Your Presence Is Heaven,” (the latter nod marks Houghton’s first nomination in the category).

Following two back-to-back Billboard Top 200-selling, GRAMMY Award-winning solo studio albums, Houghton returned with New Breed for their first live recording in five years, JESUS AT THE CENTER, which was released on RGM-New Breed Music and Integrity Music.  Recorded live with thousands of worshipers at Houston’s Lakewood Church, this double-CD, 18 song album features Israel & New Breed returning to their roots, delivering new anthems for the modern day church.
