Grammy Award-Winner Ann Nesby to Release New Album, “Living My Life” via Arrow Records

On June 3, 2014, Arrow Soul Records, a new division of Arrow Records, will release the latest album from legendary entertainer and GRAMMY Award winner, Ann Nesby. The project entitled Living My Life marks Nesby’s seventh solo, studio album. CEO of Arrow Records, Pastor Taffi Dollar, expressed her enthusiasm about Living My Life’s release saying, “It’s wonderful to have the opportunity to work with an artist of Ann’s caliber because she sets the bar so high! I’m really proud of what we’ve been able to create and I can’t wait for the public to hear it”!

Nesby recently premiered the album’s first single and title track “Living My Life” to stellar reviews. SoulTracks.com says, “It will get your feet moving while your ears are rejoicing.” The up-tempo song, which seeks to uplift and inspire listeners, showcases Ann’s robust, unmistakable vocals. The track was produced by Kendrick Dean, who has worked with other world-class artists including Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige and Tyrese, along with Brandon Alexander and DJ Terry Hunter. On producing “Living My Life” Dean offers, “I’ve been fortunate to work with many platinum selling artist throughout my career. Working with Ms. Ann has definitely been a highlight for me. Her voice is a staple in time. She leaves you begging for more”.

Known in music circles as the “Queen of Inspirational Soul,” Nesby has achieved success in multiple genres, using the term “Life Music (music which ministers to the whole person)” to describe her style. In addition to her successes in the gospel world with albums such as In The Spirit andThe Lula Lee Project Nesby is well loved for her GRAMMY nominated smash duet with Al Green “Put it On Paper” as well as “Loving Is Really My Game,” a #1 Billboard Dance chart hit.

Having risen to international fame over 20 years ago in the 1990’s, Ann Nesby won two GRAMMY Awards as the lead vocalist of the acclaimed ensemble Sounds of Blackness. Following her tenure with Sounds of Blackness, Ann released her debut solo album, I’m Here for You, containing R&B classics “I’m Still Wearing Your Name,” “This Weekend,” and the Top 5 Billboard Dance hit “Hold On.”  This debut project spent a noteworthy 60 weeks on the music charts. Since the launch of her solo career, Ann’s gift as an exceptional vocalist has earned her six GRAMMY nominations and the accolades of both music lovers and industry notables who agree with Randy Jackson’s (American Idol) declaration that Ann Nesby is “one of the best singers in the known world”.

In addition to her distinct vocals, Ann has made her mark as a songwriter, penning hits for other artists such as Gladys Knight (“Home Alone”) and Patti LaBelle (“The Right Kinda Lover” and “Someone Like You”).  She has also demonstrated her exceptional talents as an actress having appeared in numerous stage productions including Tyler Perry’s I Know I’ve Been Changed and feature films such as The Fighting Temptations.
