Gospel Community Celebrates Master Composer and Inspirational Artist Dr. Edwin Hawkins

Awesome, amazing, genius, and magnificent are some of the words befitting renowned Gospel and R&B composer, Dr. Edwin Hawkins. Hawkins, who has won multiple Grammy awards for hits such as Wonderful, Jesus Lover of my Soul, and I Tried Him for Myself on the popular Edwin Hawkins Music & Arts Seminar Mass Choir album, will be celebrated for his many innovations in Gospel and R&B music on August 10, 2013 at the Oakland Inter-Stake Center.

The gala hosted by Gospel great Richard Smallwood and Teresa Hairston (Gospel Today) promises to be a cavalcade of stars with appearances by Lady Tramaine Hawkins, Andrae and Sandra Crouch, Daryl Coley, Lawrence Matthews, Chrystal Rucker, Dewayne Woods, Nikki Potts, and more.

In addition, Bay Area artists Lena Byrd-Miles, Nona Brown, Alfreda Lyons-Campbell, Demetrius Tolefree, Renee Winston, Niq Ernest, Robin Williams, Brenda Roy, Gospel-Group Jus-B-Cuz, and more will join in the all-star tribute to the “Father of Contemporary Gospel.”

The Ultimate Black Tie Affair is being produced by The Celebration Dream Team – a full service event production team.
