Boston based group Gary Lyon & Living Water released their highly anticipated album, THAT PRAISE digitally yesterday, December 18, 2012. THAT PRAISE is available for purchase at iTunes and wherever music is sold digitally.
THAT PRAISE is Gary Lyon & Living Water’s 2nd album and features a first time collaboration with budding songwriter/producer Justin Newry. The 11 track album offers a flawless combo of strong vocals, masterful vocal arrangements and production.
Gary Lyon’s knack for pairing the right vocalist for the right songs is evident with a collective set of notable guest artists such as Ayana McDonald (of Bobby Perry & RAIN) on “Shake”, a beautiful theatric flavored groove; singer/songwriter Justin Newry on “Bless the Lord”; a song of praise and celebration, and “Holy Is Your Name”, which features Rev. Brandon T. Crowley and Tamar St. Julien.
The current single “Power In Your Name” aims to draw in its listeners to realize just as its title says the power of the Lords name. With strong leading vocals from group member Ayeesha Lane and Gary Lyon, this song appeals to listeners who need that extra uplift and this song helps them realize Jesus is one prayer away; you just have to call on his name.
Under the direction of Gary Lyon, a native of North Carolina, a soloist who garnered most of his success with the award-winning North Carolina A&T State University Gospel Choir is proud to be working with Living Water. As a director Gary Lyon gained experience working across Greensboro, NC and in Boston.
Gary Lyon & Living Water began its quest of spreading the good news of Jesus Christ in November 2005. It was at this time that each member of the group made a significant commitment to the vision of Gary Lyon & Living Water. The vision crosses all lines of communication by sharing a ‘simple praise’ to God’s people. It is also believed that God has designed Living Water to complete this task by using each member collectively as a vessel to bring the vision to fruition.
Since its founding, Gary Lyon & Living Water has gained a dedicated following within the gospel community, while building relationships in the larger community by singing for audiences at local festivals, corporate events, conferences and schools throughout New England. Lyon says that working with Gary Lyon & Living Water is a charge that he cannot avoid. The messages shared by Gary Lyon & Living Water are like streams of water that flow from within him and bubble over for the encouragement and inspiration of anyone open to the life-changing power of the gospel in song.
Exciting, yet calming, invigorating, yet soothing, stirring yet comforting, these are just a few of the paradoxes which could be used to describe the sound and ministry of Gary Lyon & Living Water, one of New England’s most notable new gospel ensembles.
