Alexis Spight to Release Debut Album, “L.O.L. (Living Out Loud)”, Plus Promo Tour

Alexis_Spight_LOL_Cover_Gospel recording artist and BET’s Sunday Best Season Five first-runner-up Alexis Spight releases her debut album, L.O.L.: Living Out Loud, available in stores and online on March 12.

Alexis’ new single, “Steady” is impacting gospel radio on February 25.  The single is available on iTunes (see iTunes link below). The video for “Steady” debuted on Radio One’s Interactive One, the Yolanda Adams Morning Show and other key online outlets (see video link below). The current single from the album is Alexis’ rendition of Kirk Franklin’s “Imagine Me,” which is currently #23 on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart and #17 on the Gospel Indicator Songs chart.

With her fiery red hair and golden voice, Alexis was a favorite of both the judges and audience during Season Five of BET’s Sunday Best.  While she came up just short of the crown in the 2012 gospel competition, the 19-year-old singer/songwriter is still a winner.  As a testament to her talents and skills, Alexis made it to the Top 20 out of 15,000 who auditioned for the show and then survived the competition to the finale.

Greg “Uncle G” Lyons of Uncle G Promotions and Entertainment of Houston, TX, is Alexis’ manager and a big fan.  “I’ve worked with several artists over the years, but it’s something distinctly different about Alexis,” says Lyons. “Everyone she comes in contact with instantly connects with her spirit.  She is a pleasure to work with and she loves God.”

Alexis kicks-off the L.O.L.: Living Out Loud Promotional Tour this weekend at the NBA All-Stars in Houston, TX, on February 16.   The star-studded event, which will be held during the 62nd NBA All-Star Weekend at the Arena Theater, will be co-hosted by Pastor Paula White.  Alexis will be the only female artist performing at the 8th Annual All-Star Gospel Celebration, which will honor Olympic Gold Medalist Gabrielle “Gabby” Douglass, NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady, Life Coach CleRenda McGrady; Journalist and Political Analyst Roland Martin, the “Cookie Lady” Lauretta Pierce, and several local pastors.  Alexis will perform alongside Houston-based recording artist Israel Houghton, James Fortune and FIYA, and label mate Brian Courtney Wilson.

Later that day, Alexis will fly to Atlanta, where she will perform at the Bronner Brothers International Hair Show on Saturday evening, Sunday, February 17, and Monday, February 18, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. GA.  She will also minister at the Sunday morning service at the Convention Center (see promotional schedule below).

Since her Sunday Best win, Alexis has been traveling the country to promote her single and forthcoming album. Her promotional tour has included appearances on the Impact Network, the 28th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards, the BMI Trailblazers of Gospel event, and a series of Super Bowl-related events, including Sunday morning worship service at the Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church, as well as church visits, radio and media appearances.

Alexis is enjoying the journey, but she is adamant about the fact that her music is her ministry and that her number one goal is to “win souls for the kingdom.” She also wants to make sure that the message in her music ministry remains clear:  “You can be as different and unique as God made you and still love—and be loved by—God, so you can be bold and confident in your uniqueness.”
