Preashea Hilliard Paves The Way For New Worship Warriors

In case you haven’t noticed, there’s a spiritual changing of the guard in motion, and it was even more evident earlier this week at New Light Christian Center  North in Houston, Texas. The youngest daughter of Bishop I.V. and Dr. Bridgette Hilliard took to a stunning stage for her live recording five years after her 2010 debut release Live Out Loud; prior to that time she never considered herself a singer.  In 2007 when asked to lead a song in the New Light Christian Center Youth Choir, everyone became aware, including Hilliard that she was sitting on a special gift that would soon redirect the calling on her life.

Hilliard kicked the evening off with a beautiful original arrangement of “Isaiah 40″ accompanied by a liturgical dancer dressed in white that segued right into a cover of “Heaven On Earth” written by David Binion. The flow of the song selections was flawless, never once having to stop and re-record. Strategically placed in the production between live performances were video clips of Hilliard in black and white narrating and interacting with the audience.

In total, 14 songs were ministered throughout the night, but crowd risers like “Let’s Go Up” immediately proved that the audience was not there to be spectators. The song “Forever”, laced with a twinge of American Folk showed the diversity in style that will continue to bridge ethnicities and generational divide.  Two stand-outs “No God Like Ours” and “Lord, You Amaze Me” (written by Tasha Cobbs) can easily be described as modern day Psalms exalting God’s omnipotence and omniscience; have the makings of becoming church anthems.  There were a number of powerfully executed songs presented including,  “I Believe” and “Yes, Our God Still Reigns” that made their mark in a powerful way. Hilliard penned ten songs from ‘The Glory Experience’, five co-written by Eric King, Jr., who also served as Co-Producer and Music Director for the recording.

In attendance to show support were gospel powerhouses including: CeCe Winans, Pastor John Gray, Tasha Cobbs, Brian Courtney Wilson, Jonathan Nelson, Ernest Pugh, Dadra’ Greathouse, Steve Crawford, Shana Wilson and David Michael (Sunday Best). To end things on a winning note Derrell Foster was handed keys to a 2015 Nissan Sentra that was given-away by Sound EFX Media.

Fans can expect the live recording to be available in 2016.  For more information and news stay connected with Preashea Hilliard:
