Kierra Sheard Hosts the Fourth Annual BRL Experience and Concert in Detroit

kierranewMultiple award-winning recording artist and conference founder, Kierra Sheard hosts the fourth annual BRL (Bold Right Life) Experience and Concert, Thursday, August 15 through Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God In Christ, 19190 Schaefer Highway, Detroit, MI 48235. All day sessions will be held at the Emagine Theatre Royal Oak, 200 North Main Street, Royal Oak, MI  48068.  Conference registration is $38.00 for an individual package and $30.00 for group packages (groups of 10 or more).  Registration includes seminars, light lunch on Thursday and Friday, and late night activities.  For registration, hotel and vendor information for the BRL Experience and Concert, please visit www.boldrightlife.org or call 313.342.8486.

The BRL Experience will kick-off on Thursday, August 15, with day sessions featuring Pastor Weldon Smith, and a 7:00 p.m. evening service, with Pastor Toure Roberts as the featured speaker and musical guest Tasha Cobbs.  After-hour activities will include bowling and movies at the Emagine Theatre Royal Oak from 10:30 p.m. – 1:30 a.m.

On Friday, August 16, the day sessions will include a special seminar with conference founder, Kierra Sheard, and a Zumba session, led by Y’Anna Crawley. Pastor John Hannah will lead the main service, along with musical guest Jonathan McReynolds. The Midnight Musical will feature award-winning recording artist and producer Pastor John P. Kee and New Life.

On Saturday, August 17, the day session will include seminars with Sarah Jakes, Jonathan McReynolds and GooGoo Atkins. The BRL Experience closing event will be a listening party and concert featuring Kierra Sheard and award-winning recording artist Canton Jones. This event is free and open to the public.   The after-hours activities will follow the closing concert at Ram’s Horn Restaurant.

“This is our fourth annual conference and the registration has been going extremely well,” says Kierra Sheard. “We are very excited about this year’s BRL Experience.  We have a very diverse group of special guest speakers and musical guests.  We have some of the best talent in ministry and music. We are also auditioning singers interested in joining the BRL choir. Ultimately, our goal is to expand the number of conference attendees, bring more youth to Christ and expand the BRL movement.”

The winner of the 2013 Stellar Award for the Albertina Walker Female Vocalist of the Year, Kierra has been recording her new album project and fulfilling a demanding concert schedule.  She has been working with some of the industry’s top GRAMMY® Award-winning songwriters and producers, including Diane Warren, Babyface, Rodney Jenkins, Harmony D. Samuels, Steven Collins, Eldred Singletary, and her brother and partner, J. Drew Sheard II.  Kierra and her family are the subjects of the new docu-drama series, The Sheards, on the BET Networks, which profiles her popular Detroit-based gospel super star family. The hour-long episodes are primarily told through the eyes of Kierra and J. Drew. The series follows them as they navigate family, friends, and faith in a secular world. The first season has followed Kierra as she has sought to find a balance between her professional ambition to find more mainstream success, and her loyalty to her brother, who she’s collaborated with on all her previous albums. Kierra also has struggled with juggling her new found independence with her strong family bonds, losing weight and love. The Sheards airs Sundays at8 p.m., ET on BET.
