On Friday, June 3rd, Jekayln Carr appeared in Jacksonville, FL, along with fellow contemporary Gospel luminary, Kierra Sheard, and the legendary queen of Gospel herself, Shirley Caesar, for “A Night To Remember.” The event took place at the illustrious Florida Theater and drew an enthusiastic and expectant crowd of worshippers.
The concert was aptly titled, and lived up to its name, as any concert featuring such dynamic ministers of song would surely be exactly that…A Night To Remember! Carr, Sheard and Caesar each did what they do best; minister with compassion and conviction, power and promise.
There were many memorable moments throughout the evening, but there was a tangible shift in the atmosphere during Carr’s set that literally stopped the show. As she ministered her newly positioned Top 5 song, “You’re Bigger,” the crowd grew more and more engaged and responsive. The more she sang, and the more prophesied of God’s goodness and sovereignty, the more burdens were lifted, and the more yokes were broken. All over the theater, tears were shed, hands were lifted, and hearts were opened. Even as the song ended, and the music stopped, the Spirit remained present and the moment lingered on. The audience began crying out, collectively, spontaneously singing the song’s refrain “For I know, You’re great in all the Earth,” in beautiful concert while attendees shouted and basked in the presence of the Lord.
From the first time Carr ever sang “You’re Bigger” at her live recording in Memphis, TN, it was declared – and apparent – that this song possessed the anointing of God to touch, heal, and deliver those who heard it, and last Friday night, in Jacksonville, FL, was a continuation and fulfillment of that prophesy. June 3rd was truly…A Night To Remember!
