Chicago Mass Choir to Participate in the “Bringing The Choir’s Back” Tribute

ChicagoMassChoirOn, Sunday, September 1st, Chicago Mass Choir will join Bishop Larry Trotter and Sweet Holy Spirit Ministries to celebrate and honor Great Gospel Choirs and Directors from Chicago, IL. Chicago Mass Choir is definitely one of the mainstay choirs in Gospel Music and their heritage has been built on delivering timeless songs for Sunday morning service and beyond.

The choir tribute is affectionately titled, “Bringing the Choir’s Back” and Chicago Mass Choir will be one of several choirs singing during the concert event. Gospel Music Choirs are here to stay and Chicago Mass Choir is honored to be recognized for their music and huge contribution to the Gospel Music genre.

Along with the great choirs, dynamic choir directors from Chicago will also be honored including, Pastor Angela Spivey, Ricky Dillard, Dexter Walker,Dr. LouDella Evans Reid and Mother Luvonia Whittley, Tyrone Block, Walt Whitman, Mark Hubbard, Malcolm Williams and Chicago Mass Choir’s own Percy Gray.

Chicago Mass Choir President, Dr. Feranda Williamson expressed her gratitude for being included in such a great tribute: “I am so excited for Chicago Mass Choir to be a part of this phenomenal concert to emphasize the importance of the church and community choirs as being an integral part of the black church worship experience. Just thankful for Bishop Larry D. Trotter and his vision to pay tribute to some of the outstanding choir directors of the City of Chicago. To every thing there is a season and it is my belief that the “CHOIR” focus is truly coming back!”

The “Bringing the Choir’s Back” tribute will take place at Sweet Holy Spirit Church, 8621 S. South Chicago, Ave, Chicago, IL 60617 and will begin at 6pm.
